Download the CustomDOM File

Go to the Download page and download the latest CustomDOM .zip file. Save it to a location you can easily find (e.g., your Desktop or Downloads folder).

Important: Do not extract/unzip the file. NinjaTrader imports the .zip file directly.

Import into NinjaTrader 8

  1. Open NinjaTrader 8
  2. Go to the menu bar and click Tools
  3. Select Import > NinjaScript Add-On...
  4. Navigate to the CustomDOM .zip file you downloaded
  5. Select the file and click Open
  6. Follow any on-screen prompts to complete the import
  7. You should see a confirmation that the import was successful

Open CustomDOM

  1. In NinjaTrader 8, go to New > CustomDOM from the Control Center
  2. Alternatively, find it under the Add-Ons section in your workspace
  3. Select an instrument and connect to your data feed
  4. The CustomDOM window will open with default settings

Configure Your Settings

Click the Settings button in the CustomDOM header to open the settings panel, organized into five tabs:

  • Account: License key and default account selection
  • Brackets: Tick / ATR / Dollar bracket presets, breakeven offset, trail-stop mode
  • Risk: Max order quantity, market-entry safety, alt-account confirmation, max daily loss auto-flatten
  • Display: Auto-center, ATR level shading, visible columns, indicator overlays (EMA, SMA, Pivot Points, Globex/RTH VWAP)
  • Hotkeys: Customize keyboard shortcuts for Center DOM, Buy Bid, Sell Ask, Breakeven, Flatten, and Cancel All

Save Your Template

Once you have configured CustomDOM to your liking, save your settings as a template so you can quickly apply them to new instances. Right-click and select Save Template to store your configuration.

Troubleshooting

Try restarting NinjaTrader 8 after the import. If it still doesn't appear, check the Log tab in the NinjaTrader Control Center for any error messages. Ensure you are using a 64-bit version of NinjaTrader 8.
Make sure you are importing the original .zip file (not an extracted version). If the error persists, try downloading the file again from the Download page. If the issue continues, contact support with the error message.
Ensure that your data feed connection is active and that you have selected a valid instrument. The Volume column and indicator overlays (VWAP, ATR, EMA, SMA) require real-time or replay data to populate. Check that your NinjaTrader data subscription supports the data types you are trying to display.
