Boxcar Trading Review
Last reviewed: September 28, 2026
Boxcar Trading is a new futures prop firm selling accounts in presale, with trading opening October 1, 2026, so there is no track record yet and every rule is a pre-launch publication. The offer itself is flexible: four tracks from a one-step evaluation to Straight-to-Funded, one-time pricing with no monthly rebill and no activation fee, and an optional daily loss limit you can add for a lower price. Every account runs on Rithmic, which supports NinjaTrader, Quantower and most major platforms but not Tradovate. Positions must be flat by 4:45pm ET.
Futures traders on NinjaTrader or another Rithmic platform who want one-time pricing and a choice of payout structure.
Traders who want a firm with a payout history, anyone on Tradovate, and anyone who holds overnight.
Boxcar is pre-launch: trading opens October 1, 2026, and its rules were published between September 4 and 26, 2026. Expect changes around launch; the firm says the program rules at the time of purchase apply.
Quick facts
Payouts are 90% to the trader, $500 minimum, requested through support with a processing target of about two business days. Caps depend on the track: BoxcarPrime allows $2,000 then $2,500 per payout on a 50K account, and BoxcarPayout has no per-request cap above its required buffer.

What works well
- One-time pricing, no activation fee
Accounts are a one-time purchase with no monthly rebill and no activation fee, whether you pass an evaluation or buy Straight-to-Funded.
- An optional daily loss limit that lowers the price
Prime, Scale and Payout accounts can be bought with a daily loss limit for less, and the limit carries into funded. Traders who would never breach one get a cheaper account.
- BoxcarPayout: daily requests, no per-request cap
Once funded, the Payout track allows daily payout requests with no cap above the required buffer.
- Broad platform support through Rithmic
NinjaTrader, Quantower, MotiveWave, Sierra Chart, Bookmap, ATAS, Jigsaw, MultiCharts and Rithmic Trader Pro are all listed.
What to watch out for
- No track record yet
Trading opens October 1, 2026. No trader has been paid out yet, and the rules were published between September 4 and 26, 2026. The firm says the program rules at the time of purchase apply.
- Rithmic only: no Tradovate
Every account type uses Rithmic, and Tradovate is not listed anywhere, so a Tradovate-based setup will not connect.
- Flat by 4:45pm ET
Evaluation and simulated funded accounts must be flat by 4:45pm ET on weekdays, with no overnight or weekend holds.
- Marketing and rules disagree in places
The site presents end-of-day drawdown firm-wide, but the BoxcarPayout funded account always uses intraday drawdown. It advertises instant payout approvals, while its payout article targets about two business days.
Who should pick Boxcar Trading
Boxcar supports NinjaTrader through Rithmic on every account, and one-time pricing avoids a monthly bill while you evaluate.
The BoxcarPayout track allows daily payout requests once funded, with no per-request cap above the buffer.
Adding the optional daily loss limit lowers the price, which costs nothing if your own risk rules already stop you earlier.
Import your Boxcar Trading trades into TradersForge
Boxcar Trading accounts run on Rithmic, which TradersForge's live sync doesn't reach. You can still journal every trade: import a NinjaTrader or Rithmic CSV export, or, with CustomChart, push a NinjaTrader session straight into the Journal.
Frequently asked questions
When does Boxcar Trading launch?
Trading opens October 1, 2026. Accounts can be bought before then in presale. "Launching live October 1" refers to the program opening, not the live-capital stage, which is a separate review after five approved payouts (or a large single-day profit on the Payout track).
What are the four Boxcar tracks?
BoxcarPrime, BoxcarScale and BoxcarPayout are one-step evaluations; BoxcarFunded is Straight-to-Funded. Each comes in 25K, 50K, 100K and 150K. Prime, Scale and Payout can add an optional daily loss limit for a lower price, and the Payout evaluation can be bought with either end-of-day or intraday drawdown.
Does Boxcar use end-of-day or intraday drawdown?
It depends on the track. Most use end-of-day trailing drawdown, but the BoxcarPayout evaluation can be bought as intraday, and the BoxcarPayout funded account always uses intraday drawdown, even if you chose end-of-day for the evaluation.
Does Boxcar support Tradovate?
Not that it publishes. Boxcar states every account type uses Rithmic and lists NinjaTrader, Quantower, MotiveWave, Sierra Chart, Bookmap, ATAS, Jigsaw and MultiCharts; Tradovate is not listed anywhere.
Can TradersForge track my Boxcar account?
Yes, by import rather than live sync. TradersForge's live sync connects through Tradovate, which Boxcar does not use, but you can import your trades from a NinjaTrader or Rithmic CSV export, and CustomChart users can push a NinjaTrader session straight into the Journal.
Compare with
Active intraday futures scalpers and day traders who want to scale across multiple accounts.
Traders who care about payout cadence (faster vs. uncapped) and want to pick a plan tuned to their style.
Discretionary traders who want a LIVE funded environment + 90/10 split and don't need to run automated strategies.

Guides for Boxcar Trading traders
A prop firm trading journal isn't just a normal journal with a prop logo on it. Funded and evaluation accounts live or die by rules a generic journal never models: trailing vs end-of-day vs static drawdown, daily loss limits, consistency caps, and payout thresholds — often across several accounts at once. Most traders don't blow accounts because their trading was bad; they blow them because their tracking didn't match what the firm was tracking. This guide covers exactly what a prop firm journal needs to handle, why generic journals fall short, how to run multiple accounts without losing the plot, and how to set it up.
A futures trading journal isn't just a spreadsheet of trades — it's the feedback loop that turns a discretionary trader into a consistent one. This guide covers every field a futures journal needs, why each matters, and how to set it up either as a spreadsheet you maintain manually or as an automated journal that pulls trades from your broker. Heavy emphasis on what futures-specific journaling requires that stock or options journals don't.
Most traders evaluate themselves by P&L: "I made $400 today." But P&L tells you almost nothing about whether you traded well. A $400 win on a $2,000 risk is a poor trade. A $400 win on a $100 risk is excellent. R-multiple is the unit that fixes this — it normalizes every trade by the risk you took, so a 2R day is a 2R day whether you risked $50 or $5,000. This guide covers what R-multiple is, how to compute it correctly, why it's the unit that separates serious traders from gamblers, and how to track it across futures, stocks, options, and forex.
