Apex Trader Funding vs My Funded Futures

Last reviewed: October 16, 2026

The Verdict

Apex and MFFU are both established futures prop firms with different strengths. Apex is the simpler lineup: pick intraday or end-of-day trailing for the whole account, and run up to 20 funded accounts at once. MFFU sells more plan shapes and wins on payouts: Builder pays every 48 hours, Rapid has the shortest wait to a first payout, Pro has no per-payout cap (up to a $100,000 lifetime maximum per user), and none of its current plans lists an activation fee. MFFU's drawdown varies by plan, so read the exact plan's rules before you buy.

Quick answer

Pick Apex if you want to choose intraday or end-of-day trailing up front, or to scale across many accounts. Pick MFFU if you want faster or larger payouts (Builder every 48 hours, Pro with no per-payout cap) or no activation fee.

Head-to-head

Payout speed

Edge: My Funded Futures
Apex Trader Funding

First payout after 8 trading days of activity on the funded account, then every 8 days.

My Funded Futures

Varies by plan. Builder pays every 48 hours, Rapid and Rapid EOD have the shortest wait to a first payout, Pro waits 14 calendar days from your first trade, and Studio pays any time once flat.

If "when do I see real money?" matters to your discipline or motivation, MFFU has more fast options. The trade-off is in the caps: Builder's frequent payouts are capped per cycle, while Pro's requests, with no per-payout cap, come after a longer wait.

Payout caps

Edge: My Funded Futures
Apex Trader Funding

Per-cycle caps that scale with account size: about $1,500 per cycle on a $25K account, more on larger accounts, but always capped.

My Funded Futures

Pro has a $1,000 minimum and no maximum per payout request, with a $100,000 lifetime maximum per user. Builder caps each request at $1,000 to $4,500 by size.

For traders who produce large weeks, a per-cycle cap leaves profit in the account until the next cycle. MFFU Pro removes the per-request ceiling, though the lifetime maximum still applies.

Drawdown options

Apex Trader Funding

Two variants: Intraday Trail (updates continuously through the session) and EOD Trail (updates only at the close). You pick one for the account, in both stages.

My Funded Futures

Three models, by plan. Builder, Pro, Pro One Day and Rapid EOD trail end of day in both stages. Rapid trails end of day in the evaluation and intraday once funded. Studio uses a static limit that never moves.

Apex lets you choose intraday trailing from the evaluation onward; at MFFU intraday comes only with Rapid once funded. MFFU is the one with a static option, but only on its small, micros-only Studio accounts. Which is better depends on how you hold trades.

Account size selection

Roughly even
Apex Trader Funding

$25K, $50K, $100K and $150K. The $250K and $300K tiers were retired in the Apex 4.0 update.

My Funded Futures

$25K to $150K across Rapid, Builder and Pro (varies by plan), plus 10K and 20K Studio accounts for micros-only trading.

Both firms top out at $150K. MFFU adds smaller static-drawdown Studio accounts at the low end.

Account scaling (multiple concurrent accounts)

Apex Trader Funding

Up to 20 concurrent funded accounts. A real path to multi-account scaling: split capital across instruments or strategies, or stack a proven setup.

My Funded Futures

MFFU permits multiple accounts, with limits that vary by plan; Studio allows one account at a time. Check the current limit for your plan.

If your plan depends on running many accounts at once, Apex states its ceiling plainly at 20. Confirm MFFU's limit for the plan you want before planning around it.

Plan structure variety

Apex Trader Funding

Two plans: Intraday Trail and EOD Trail. Pick one based on drawdown preference.

My Funded Futures

Six plans: Builder (48-hour payouts, daily loss limit), Rapid (shortest wait to a first payout, 90/10), Rapid EOD (end of day throughout), Pro (no per-payout cap), Pro One Day (no evaluation consistency rule) and Studio (static, micros only).

Apex's two plans are quick to choose between. MFFU's lineup lets you pick by drawdown model and payout rhythm, which takes more reading. Neither is strictly better; it depends on whether you value choice or simplicity.

Activation fees

Edge: My Funded Futures
Apex Trader Funding

One-time activation fee (~$130–$180) when you convert from evaluation to funded.

My Funded Futures

None of the plans on sale lists an activation fee for moving from evaluation to sim funded.

For traders running several accounts, a per-account activation fee adds up. At MFFU that cost is absent across the current lineup.

Consistency rules

Apex Trader Funding

Funded accounts only, not the evaluation: your largest profitable day must stay under 50% of net profit since the last approved payout (30% on legacy accounts). It resets once a payout is approved.

My Funded Futures

Varies by plan and stage. Rapid and Pro evaluations use 50%, Rapid EOD 30%, all evaluation only. Builder has none in the evaluation and 50% for payouts. Pro One Day and Studio have none.

Apex applies one rule at the payout stage. MFFU mostly applies its rule in the evaluation, with Builder the exception, and two plans have none at all. Check the rule for the exact plan and stage you will trade.

Which one is right for you?

Pick Apex Trader Funding if you...

  • Want intraday trailing from the evaluation onward

Apex lets you choose Intraday Trail for the whole account. At MFFU, intraday trailing comes only with Rapid once funded.

  • Want to scale across 5+ concurrent accounts

Apex allows up to 20 funded accounts at once. Check MFFU's limit for your plan before planning a large stack there.

  • Prefer a simple plan choice over multiple options

Two plans (Intraday vs EOD) are easier to navigate than MFFU's six. If you don't want to weigh payout rhythms against drawdown models, Apex's structure is cleaner.

Pick My Funded Futures if you...

  • Want frequent payouts

MFFU Builder pays every 48 hours, within a per-cycle cap, and Rapid has the shortest wait to a first payout. Apex runs an 8-day cycle.

  • Want no per-payout cap

MFFU Pro has no maximum per payout request, up to a $100,000 lifetime maximum per user. Apex caps every cycle.

  • Want no activation fee (multi-account scaler)

None of MFFU's current plans lists an activation fee. Every Apex account carries a one-time activation cost at funding.

  • Want to pick your drawdown model and payout rhythm

Six MFFU plans cover end-of-day, intraday-once-funded and static drawdown, with payouts from every 48 hours to any time once flat. Apex's two plans only let you pick drawdown type.

Frequently asked questions

Apex or MFFU — which is better for futures day traders?

Both are established firms. Apex is simpler and scales further (intraday or end-of-day trailing chosen up front, up to 20 concurrent accounts). MFFU wins on payouts and fees (Builder every 48 hours, Pro with no per-payout cap up to a $100,000 lifetime maximum, no activation fee on current plans) and offers more drawdown models. The decision depends on what matters more to your style.

Which firm pays faster, Apex or MFFU?

Usually MFFU. Builder pays every 48 hours within a per-cycle cap, and Rapid and Rapid EOD have the shortest wait to a first payout. Pro is slower, at 14 calendar days from your first trade. Apex's first payout needs 8 trading days of activity on the funded account, then payouts run every 8 days.

Can I withdraw without a per-cycle cap?

Only on MFFU's Pro plan, and not without any limit: Pro has a $1,000 minimum and no maximum per payout request, but a $100,000 lifetime maximum per user. Apex caps every payout cycle, scaling with account size.

Does Apex or MFFU offer intraday trailing drawdown?

Both, in different ways. Apex sells an Intraday Trail plan that trails intraday from the evaluation onward, next to its EOD Trail plan. At MFFU, Rapid trails end of day in the evaluation and intraday once funded; Builder, Pro, Pro One Day and Rapid EOD trail end of day throughout, and Studio is static.

How many accounts can I run at each firm?

Apex permits up to 20 concurrent funded accounts. MFFU's limits vary by plan, and Studio allows one account at a time; check MFFU's current limit for your plan.

What account sizes are available at each firm?

Apex sells $25K, $50K, $100K and $150K; its $250K and $300K tiers were retired in the Apex 4.0 update. MFFU sells $25K to $150K across Rapid, Builder and Pro (sizes vary by plan), plus 10K and 20K Studio accounts.

Can TradersForge track both Apex and MFFU?

Yes. Both connect through Tradovate or NinjaTrader. The TradersForge prop firm tracker handles both Apex drawdown variants and every current MFFU plan as the plan defines it (end of day, intraday once funded on Rapid, or static on Studio), with live drawdown monitoring and warnings before you approach the line.

Should I use both firms together?

Some traders do: Apex for multi-account scaling or an intraday-trail evaluation, plus an MFFU plan for its payout rhythm. TradersForge tracks both in one dashboard if you go this route.
